My name is Dr. Joe Barlett. Although I have spent the past 24 years practicing in West Ashley, I have called Summerville home for nearly 20 years. I grew up in New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh. My first experience with chiropractic care came after I was injured playing football. The relief I felt from chiropractic treatments was remarkable, allowing me to return to the game almost immediately. This experience sparked my interest in chiropractic care and influenced my career path. I began my education at the University of Pittsburgh in the School of Pharmacy but soon shifted my focus to the structure of the human body. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Clarion University of Pennsylvania and went on to receive my Doctorate in Chiropractic from Sherman College of Chiropractic in Spartanburg, South Carolina. My primary focus in practice is the diagnosis and treatment of lower back and neck pain, as well as other musculoskeletal conditions. I want to help people feel better a quickly as possible, and improve their quality of life. I understand that treating back pain can be complex, and I am dedicated to researching and providing evidence-based treatments. I have completed post-graduate training in spinal rehabilitation, nutrition, exercise, dry-needling, diagnostic imaging, and various other medical topics. I have experience treating people of all ages from infants to centenarians, and have been asked to care for professional athletes in the NFL, WWE, and PGA. Additionally, I work as a utilization review specialist, helping insurance companies determine the most appropriate treatments based on clinical findings and research. I am committed to offering friendly, honest, and professional care. Most of my patients have been with me for years, and I deeply value the relationships I have built and the opportunity to help them.Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife Candace, and our 7 wonderful children. I am also, perhaps embarrassingly, devoted to my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.
Warm regards, Joe Barlett |
