Your first visit will typically last about an hour and includes a thorough consultation and examination. We will discuss the concerns that led you to seek care and perform a comprehensive chiropractic, neurological, and orthopedic assessment. This may involve palpation, where the doctor uses their hands to evaluate your spine, checking for abnormalities in alignment, curvature, or muscle tone. We will also conduct any necessary special tests, such as range of motion or orthopedic and neurological evaluations.

Depending on your age and condition, spinal X-rays may be recommended to assess the alignment and health of your spine. This information helps us determine the most effective approach to your care. Typically, four to six X-rays are taken at the beginning of treatment, though factors such as pregnancy or recent X-rays may affect this decision.

At the conclusion of your visit, we will review the findings, and provide any specific recommendations for optimal results. Dr. Barlett will also guide you through the adjustment process, and we often perform an adjustment during the first visit.
